Regional Coordinator Changes

JASNA Dayton wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Gary Mitchner, who has generously served as our Regional Coordinator (RC) for 13 years. Gary's contributions to the region over the years are greatly appreciated, and we're pleased to grant him a well-deserved rest!

To remain in compliance with the term limits required by JASNA National policy, it is now necessary for our region to choose someone new for the post. Therefore, at the May 6, 2012 business meeting, the Executive Board voted to appoint Jean Long as acting RC of JASNA Dayton, pending a formal election by the membership at large to be held at our September 16, 2012 event.

Sense and Sensibility

The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will present Sense and Sensibility from February 17 to March 18, 2012. This new adaptation is the work of Jon Jory, who also created the version of Pride and Prejudice performed by the company in 2011.

While JASNA Dayton has no official event for this production, several members have expressed interest in attending a performance together so that the double benefits of a group discount and one another's society may be enjoyed. Angela Jaeger is organinizing a group to attend the March 18th, 2012 matinee performance at 2 p.m.

Should you wish to join the party, please contact Angela directly at regencydancingqueen@yahoo.com to receive further details. Payment will be required no later than December 17 to ensure the group discount.

Jane LaForce memorial

A memorial service and potluck for Jane LaForce will be held on September 11 at 3pm (note that this is a change--we were previously informed that the memorial would be held in August). The service will take place in the Lakeside Lodge at Sharon Woods, 4661 E. Kemper Road, Sharonville, OH 45241.

Sad tidings

Sometime last night, Jane LaForce passed away after a long battle with cancer. Please keep Jane and her husband Charlie in your thoughts and prayers. A memorial service will be held sometime in August--we'll pass along more information as it becomes available.
