Twelfth Night Ball

January weather was frightful!  We are hoping for clear skies and more pleasant temperatures for the rescheduled JASNA Dayton Twelfth Night Ball, Saturday, March 9 at Patterson Homestead.

In the absence of holiday decorations and finery, the Ball will now include a masquerade! Masquerade Balls were popular in the Regency era, usually taking place during the winter months, beginning with Twelfth Night in January.  There were private as well as public balls, open to anyone who could buy a ticket.  You might never know who was behind the disguise.

Masks are not required, of course, but I understand there will be a prize for the best mask!

Join JASNA-Dayton on Saturday March 9, 2019 from 6-11pm for our Fourth Annual Twelfth Night Ball!

Wrap up the holiday season in Regency style at the Jane Austen Society of North America, Dayton Region's Fourth Annual Twelfth Night Ball set in the gracious, intimate atmosphere of Patterson Homestead (click here for map and directions). Enjoy English country dancing, card games, delightful refreshments and merry-making. Patterson House will be decorated in Christmas finery with costumed staff acting the part of country house servants. The Master of Revels calls and instructs guests in the dance so everyone can participate. Retire to the card room, where game hosts serve as partners and provide instruction in a variety of period card games. Bid on a small, curated selection of themed items in the silent auction then enjoy a traditional ball supper during the dance intermission, with Twelfth Night Cake! Reservations are limited!

Cost: $45 per person for JASNA & Cincinnati English Country Dance (CECD) members, $55 per person for non-members. Registrations close 7 days prior to the event.
